Have you ever seen a penguin come to tea...

Hello, chaps.  Today was an interesting day, to say the least.  I can prove that yes, there are penguins in Africa, just look at the pictures I placed on facebook.  For those of you viewing this without facebook, I will try to find another, simpler way to share photos (flickr, photoshare, etc.) this weekend in my free time.  Not that I don't have free time right now; I don't start my internship until this Wednesday (6/3) apparently.  Three day week, FTW!

Anyway, are BHOG (big hairy obnoxious goal, fyi) for the day was to head out to Simon's Town, which is south of Cape Town, about mid-way between CT and the Cape of Good Hope.  I think we will try and visit the Cape of Good Hope this weekend, as it is only around an hour and a half away.  Anyway, we visited Simon's Town with the single intent of seeing penguins.  We saw them.  Lots of them.  They were awesome.  Awesome enough that I apparently took 74 pictures of them, and one movie.  Not all the pictures were good, however; apparently I had my camera set on "snow photos" setting at first, lame.  But, as I said, I took 74, so some of them have to be good right?  Law of averages, and all that?

After we saw the penguins (and after Dag got nipped for trying to pet one; silly Dag), we had dinner in Simon's Town at a local seafood restaurant.  We were originally going to eat at the Salty Sea Dog (Salty Balls anyone?), but instead chose the one we ate at (don't remember the name).  I ate hake and calamari.  It was really good, actually.  I guess I technically ate "fish and chips", although it wasn't specifically called that, but a rose by any other name would taste just as powdery (inside joke, that I will explain later someday over a draft of Castle Lager perhaps).
Well, that's pretty much it for my day, I guess.  Apparently, Melissa is taking us on one last adventure tomorrow because three of us are still not working, so hopefully I'll have more good stories then.  G'night everyone!
